TWO HUGE Cruise Ships Docking in San Francisco TODAY

Good morning everyone!

KTVU's Mornings on 2 reports that two cruise ships will arrive in San Francisco today (May 1, 2009):
  • Royal Caribbean's "Mariner of the Seas" has already docked at Pier 35. KTVU reports they will depart at 8PM tonight.
  • Carnival Cruise Line's "Carnival Splendor" will dock today at approximately 1PM. KTVU reports they will depart at midnight tonight.
Be aware that Mariner of the Seas will return to San Francisco next Monday at around 8AM for their weekly planned trips. Some insiders say that Mariner of the Seas will travel weekly to San Francisco until June, but the company's website says they will do the weekly West Coast U.S. trips until the end of August. But some better news, if you want a seven day cruise on the West Coast, it starts at only $399 per passenger (double occupancy) for an inside cabin. Plus, Mariner of the Seas has a Royal Promenade, a well known feature on that cruise line's ships that is like walking in a big shopping mall (very high ceiling) with tons of shops.

So while all the major news agencies start catching on about the boom in tourism due to the H1N1 virus, Akit's Complaint Department beat them all, 12 HOURS EARLIER! I posted on Tuesday evening, the news caught on Wednesday morning.
